ImPorts know it, love it, fear it. They may have even thought they might not get it, but it is time for the one, the only



Celebrating it's 6th year on November 1-5 in sunny Heropa, FanPort is bigger than ever, with events split between the main Heropa Convention Center and the historic Bishop Hotel, featuring many attractions including:

▶ PANELS
Does your character have a hobby? Passion? Something they want to get off their chest to a crowd? Here's their chance! FanPort organizers have sent out emails to all imPorts invinting them to create or host a panel of their choice. Nothing is off limits! Host a Game Show, perform a concert, throw shade at an enemy, promote something, show off their awesome powers or just talk about themselves for an hour. The stage is theirs.

Sign up here, spaces are going fast! (legal disclaimer: they are not; there are as many spaces as there is interest)

Submitting NPC-run panels, or panels where others can volunteer their characters as hosts/co-hosts, such as the ever-popular "imPort Mean Bweets", is also welcome!


▶ Exhibition Hall
For imPorts with their own business, organization, or brand, FanPort organizers have offered vendor space at a deeply discounted rate. Sell merch from their tv show, set up a food stand, recruit or increase awareness for a group, or just set up a booth offering photographs, autographs, or maybe even kisses to their adoring public (for a price).

All they have to do is sign up. Official FanPort Sponsors wanted.

Feel free to also set up any NPC booths that might be interesting; they can be found selling items like wigs and ready-made imPort costumes, and companies will be offering their (off-brand, to avoid lawsuits) imPort-themed books, comics, and more.


▶ Speed Dating
The surpise hit of FanPort 2019 is back! 5 minutes is all you get to try to find your love connection among other FanPort congoers. Organizers promise good, plain fun and potential love connections, with no magical or technoloical mishaps in sight. Everyone will be free to go about their day when the event is over (or even earlier if they so choose!).

It is completely allowed to just put up a speed dating prompt when the log goes live, but if you would like your character to be randomly paired on a date with someone, sign up here, and good luck.


▶ Artist Alley
Some love it, some fear it, but either way it's become FanPort's biggest draw. Unauthorized imPort mechandise can be found as far as the eye can see. Anything you can imagine is there, from ever-popular doujinshi of any imPort pairing imaginable to replica jewelry to plushies to mugs and even to body pillows. Hope your character isn't easily scandalized... or in the market for some prime blackmail material.

Any imPorts looking to get a table in artist's alley will gladly be supplied one by the organizers, and OOC sign ups for table space isn't necessary (though feel free to comment below what your character might offer!)


▶ And More!

Cosplay Contest - It's a con. There will be costumes, and lots of them, and prizes will be awarded to the best! ImPorts welcome to join, so long as they don't dress as themselves.

Rave - A staple of any convention, there will be a rave on both Friday and Sunday nights.

Other Halloween-related surprises - It is next to Halloween after all, so there are some spooky surprises in store. If you have any ideas you'd like to pitch, please do so here.

▶ FanPort & The Arrival Ceremony
As the mods have previously stated, on the 1st, FanPort will be hosting the November Arrival Ceremony. However, it will be hosted in the satellite building--the Bishop Hotel. The vast majority of events for FanPort will occur in the main Heropa Convention Center, with the Hotel being roughly a 10 minute/5 block walk away from the Convention Center. ICly, anyone with a FanPort badge can freely enter or leave the main location or either of its satellite locations.

This will allow characters that ICly would not attend an Arrival Ceremony an IC reason to avoid it, but as all arriving ImPorts will receive an official FanPort badge, they can still have the opportunity to run into and interact with newcomers in the Heropa Convention Center events. I hope this helps create a comfortable IC/OOC barrier for anyone who wishes to participate in FanPort and meet new arrivals without feeling obligated to attend the Arrival Ceremony.


▶ Why a convention during the week?
FanPop, the organizers of the world's most popular imPort convention, wanted to ensure that the newest imPorts (and more importantly their newest fans) can get to enjoy the con to its fullest. They are providing incredibly discounted rates to any imPorts who wish to stay in Heropa during the week at the nearby Hotel Veronica across the street. Their jobs absolutely won't mind. It's for the fans, after all!

This year's FanPort, like FanPort's in years past, will be a light, (mostly) drama-free zone where imPorts can just relax, recharge, and enjoy(?) being around people that genuinely love them for them, no matter who they might be.
